Hi Everyone.
Unfortunately, it is unlikely that I will be able to attend our 50th. Since I wonÕt be there to lie to you in person, I thought I would send a brief overview of the past 5 decades.
After our graduation I attended the U of Wis. in Eau Claire for one year then transferred to the University of Minnesota where I went for 5 years and got my professional degree in Architecture. During that period I also did a semester at Notre Dame. That was followed by two years in Cochabamba, Bolivia as a Peace Corps Volunteer, still the two most formative years of my life. In Bolivia I taught in the School of Architecture at the Universidad de San Simon. It was that experience, IÕm sure, that led me to my career in architectural education. Two years in Bolivia also gave me the opportunity to travel widely in South America.
After returning from Bolivia, I went to Yale for 2 1Ú2 years where I got my post-professional terminal degree, simultaneously working for an architectural firm while I was in New Haven.
Karen, who I met in the Peace Corps, and I married when I started at Yale. After graduation I got a job offer from the School of Architecture at Washington University in St. Louis. It seemed like a reasonable thing to try for a couple of years. This fall will be the start my 41st year (moving to a part time basis), so it seems to have worked out. We settled into St. Louis and had two children, a daughter, Eleanor (1972) and a son, Jesse (1975). Karen and I divorced in 1999. We are all in St. Louis. Eleanor is a graphic designer and Jesse is manager of ticket sales at the Arch on the river and also works at a local ÒYÓ part time. He has spent some time as an elementary school teacher.
I am a tenured, full professor in the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts, Washington University in St. Louis (I know, a real mouthful!). In my time here I have also been an Assist. Dean, Director of Graduate Programs and done a few other administrative jobs. But teaching is what I enjoy and that is where I have put my energy. I primarily teach graduate students but some undergraduates, as well. A sabbatical every few years has given me an opportunity to live in Paris and Barcelona. Great experiences where I made friendships that I still maintain. A special opportunity through the University was a trip to Cuba where I went for two weeks in 2002 to a conference on architectural education in Latin America. For the past six years I have spent the spring semester teaching in our junior year abroad program in Florence, Italy, Òliving in the epicenter of the renaissanceÓ. A great bit of luck! Bill & Jill Klanderman came through in two of the years I was there and we enjoyed spending some time together (as well as eating some very good food!). Both Eleanor and Jesse have visited each year I have been there which has provided opportunities for us to travel around Europe together. Spain is a favorite, perhaps because my Spanish is still pretty serviceable.
I have maintained a small professional practice for the entire time I have been here, ÒCarl Safe Design ConsultantsÓ the office at which I am writing this missile. I do a variety of residential projects and smaller scale retail/commercial work (when there is work to do!).
Through the years I have developed a love of photography and have exhibited (and even sold!) my work at local galleries.
There is probably more but I think that is a reasonable overview. Good grief, I got 50 years on one page. IÕm not sure how I feel about that.
One last happy additionÉÉÉ..my daughter, Eleanor married Dennis about a month ago (Memorial Day weekend), a very happy day indeed. Dennis has a 14 year old daughter, Rachel, so I became an instant grandpa which is a lot of fun. I was thrilled that Bill & Jill Klanderman were able to come down for the celebration which was held outdoors in the courtyard of a friendÕs house. I am going to attach a few pictures from the wedding which will show you where we are at today and how we are all fighting off Òthe ravages of ageÓÉÉÉÉÉ
My best to you all.     Carl (safe@wustl.edu)

Jerry Slocum

I hauled milk right after high school then I drove a semi over the road for two years. I landed a job at 3M in 1966 and stayed there for thirty-three years. I have been retired for eleven years, and believe it or not, I am back hauling milk. This is not a full time job, but I do it two or three mornings a week.
I married Jackie Ryan in 1963 so we will celebrate our forty seventh anniversary on the 10th of August.
We had three sons, but sadly we lost our second son to leukemia in 1983. Our oldest son lives in Ellsworth and recently purchased a home so I have been up there playing handyman quite a bit of the time. Our youngest son lives in Prescott and works for 3M.
We have no grandchildren, so there are no stories to tell there.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the 50th reunion.

Kathy Madson

Hi! We are enjoying retirement in a golf course community for ÒactiveÓ adults 55 or better. As we say, we are one step east of Sun City! Had our home and pool built 12 years ago, so we planned ahead.
Most of our travels now involve visiting our youngest son, Mark and his family in Manhattan Beach, CA. An annual trip to Maui condo in January or February to get out of a winter in the desert.
My husband is a Òtrain nutÓ so we have travelled many miles on the rails. Durango Ð Silverton, overnight from LA to Seattle along the coast, Chunnel train from London to Brussels and back, Madrid (Spain) to Paris overnight, to name a few. Plus three Òtourist lines in Arizona. Many trips to England (UK) exploring historic and out of the way towns.
Eldest son, Paul, lives outside of Cave Creek, Arizona and works as a registered principal for a securities firm in Phoenix. Great to have him nearby. Youngest son, Mark, is manager of web site (IT) for Skechers at corporate headquarters in Manhattan Beach, CA.
I still sew and cook and bake. Mostly dresses and baked treats for our granddaughter. Gardening is a favorite also. Raise flowers, veggies and have a citrus grove of grapefruit, key lime, lemon and orange trees. We have a grass lawn and no cactus. Very tropical Ð must be tolerant of summer temps. Lots of palm trees and vines in our ÒoasisÓ.

Steve Madson

Have been living in Florida since 1986. Like the winter weather here, but miss the great summers and fall in the Minnesota/ Wisconsin area.
Recently retired from teaching economics and investments at a local junior college. Will be publishing a CD on investment advice for recent college grads and other young people.  Also working full time on a Ògreat American novelÓ which has been in the making for about 20 yearsÑno sense in rushing into these things. Have 900 pages in first draft form, but needs serious editing and pruning to get it into a readable length.
Have one grown boy. At 6Õ8Ó, he was a top baseball prospect until arm injuries side-tracked that career. He recently married, so we have no grandchildren yet.

Ann Sjolin

It has been fun reading the news from all of you. And, yes, the guilt got to me. I decided that I had better do my homework and send an update.

I will start with a confession. I never really left school. After SVHS I went to UW-River Falls, and then to UW-Eau Claire, and then to Denver University and back to UW- Eau Claire. I spent 35 years at UWEC as a faculty member and administrator. It was a rewarding career and a privilege to work with college students all of those years.

Supporting me through all of this were the three men in my life, my husband Bob and our two sons, Brian and Eric. Our sons now each have families. Brian and Patty have two daughters, and Eric and Andrea have two daughters and one son. We just returned from an Orlando vacation with the youngest grandchildren where we ALL went on the Harry Potter, Space Mountain and Big Thunder. No wimps in this family.

Training and showing dogs remains my active recreational passion. I enjoy showing our Old English Sheepdogs throughout the country and judging some shows. Likewise, Bob, a retired communication consultant, spends any free minutes training and working horses. Our country home is south of Eau Claire and includes 6 show dogs and three Appaloosas.

I look forward to seeing you all at the reunion.

Patsy Lehman

It is hard to believe that 50 years have gone by since we graduated from high school. After graduation, I worked in St. Paul doing clerical work for a few companies and somehow fell into the insurance field. I became a licensed Property/Casualty Insurance Agent and I am currently working for Cedarleaf Insurance Agency where I have been for over 25 years.

In May of 1969, I married Phil Nelson and we were blessed with one son, Todd. We lived in River Falls and then moved to Baldwin. In May of 1983, my husband was killed accidentally. After Todd graduated from high school, we moved to Woodbury. In August of 1990, we moved to Coon Rapids when I married Bruce Isom.

Todd and his wife, Tammi, have three wonderful daughters Taylor (16), Danielle (13) and Ella (7). My granddaughters are the joy of my life. They live in Stillwater so we are able to follow their accomplishments and achievements.

I also have 2 step-daughters, 1 step-son, 6 step-grandsons (ranging from age 14 to 23) and 1 step granddaughter (age 5) and enjoy time with them as well.

Bruce and I like spending time at our lake place in Nisswa, MN, golfing and traveling. My husband is retired and once I retire, our plan is to sell our place in Coon Rapids and move to Nisswa and spend the winter months at our place in Estero, FL (near Fort Meyers).

Sharon Hillstead

After graduation, I went to St. Paul to work. I worked at St. Paul Fire & MarineÕs Western Life Division for almost three years. I ran a Freiden Flex-o-writer in the Group Life Department.
In 1963 I married Donovan Johnson from Woodville and we moved to Madison where he worked for Wisconsin Bell (AT&T). We lived there for six years. I worked for the State of Wisconsin, Department of Transportation. In 1965 our son, Scott was born.
In 1969, Don was promoted and we moved to Fort Atkinson, WI. Our daughter, Dawn, was born that summer. When Dawn started school, I went to work for MooreÕs Food Products, which was a division of the Clorox Company, as senior secretary to the general manager.
In 1986, Don was promoted to Director of the Eau Claire District of Ameritech. The family moved to Eau Claire in 1987 after Dawn graduated from high school. While living in Eau Claire, I worked for Norby & Associates Real Estate Appraisal as administrative assistant. Don took early retirement in 1993. We sold our house in Eau Claire and moved to our cottage on Lake Holcombe in 1994. I commuted to Eau Claire for three years until I my retirement in 1997.
Our son, Scott, graduated from UW-Whitewater and married his wife, Debbie in 1990. They met while going to college. They live in DePere, Wisconsin. Scott is a manager at Paper Converting Company in Green Bay and Deb has a small business. They have two sons, Zach age 12, and Tanner age 9. Both boys play a number of sports (especially hockey).
Our daughter, Dawn, graduated from UW-Eau Claire and married her husband, Dion, in 1994. They live in Hayward, Wisconsin. They have four children, Siri age 14, Drey age 12, Dak age 9 and Soile age 7. Dion teaches physical education and health, as well as coaching football and baseball. Dawn is an accountant. Drey, Dak and Soile all play hockey and baseball. Drey and Dak also play football.
We enjoy life on the lake with our Jack Russell Terrier, Jackie. We love having our children and grandchildren come. They enjoy fishing, tubing and canoeing down the Jump River, which flows into Lake Holcombe. We enjoy going to our grandchildrenÕs hockey and ball games. We go to auctions and have attended a few Tea Party gatherings.

Judy M. Olson

We (Judy & Roger Strobush) are enjoying our retirement on he Apple River north of Amery. Bob hunts and fishes almost constantly. I fish some, but mostly play competitive duplicate bridge in St. Paul and several tournaments around the U.S. each year.

Donna Roatch

Graduated, worked in St. Paul (insurance company), got married, had a family, stayed home to care for our children: 3 boys and 1 girl. Home is a 40 acre hobby farm in 3rd Andrle generation by River Falls.

Over the years we had many animals but mainly beef cattle that our kids showed in competitions. In 2010, we sold all beef cattle and now rent out the land. Gene is now really retired! He worked at Armour & Co. for 22 years and 21 years at 3M. He has been retired for 7 years. I have been employed with the River Falls School District (still am) going on 25 years. This is where our kids and 6 grandkids went. Two of our kids also are employed with the district. Four of our grandkids are off to college. Three of our kids live in and around River Falls and one in St. Paul on Summit Avenue.

We go to Balsam Lake whenever we can. Other hobbies - we like gardening, fishing, making and refinishing furniture and lawn items. Gene canes chairs and I enjoy quilting and reading. We are also kept busy taking part in our grandkids' lives and helping our children when needed.

Judy Dent

Leon and I retired in 2004. After 24 1/2 years as an RN on a women's unit, I retired. We also retired from fire/rescue - Leon with 30 years, Judy with 27.

We built a home in rural Augusta where we enjoy kids, gardening, fishing, etc. I quilt some, am church treasurer, and volunteer on the nursing home auxiliary and the fire department auxiliary. There's more going on than we care to have at times, but we love it "up north". Leon still drives semi twice a week.

We love having our babies come visit - all those little boys keep us "young" but wear us out!

   Greetings to all---

Gloria Wilkens

Hmm, 50 years, it doesnÕt see real, does it? I worked at an insurance company in St. Paul for one year and then went to Stout for two years. I worked in the cities that summer, met Doug and didnÕt go back to college. We married, lived in the cities for three years, and then moved to Bemidji, MN where weÕve been ever since.
We owned Northern Amusement since 1966-2009 and that is when we sold the business and Doug retired. When we first moved here, I actually worked on the route too. I filled candy and cigarette machines and I quickly gained 15 #Õs because my thinking was the candy was ÒfreeÓ for me! We sold the vending part of it in 1975 and kept the amusement games. I worked part time buying prizes (fun shopping) and doing book work.
We built a 21,000 square foot state of the art roller skating rink (Smart Skate) in 1980 which I managed until we sold it in 1994. Our kids were 10 and 12 years of age when we built it. They started working right away so we had many good years together at the rink. Course we were open holidays, nights and weekends and we had Òall night skatesÓ once a month which really take a toll on you. I was happy when we sold the rink; kids are easy to please, it was the parents who arenÕt.
We have two children. Todd (42) is married to his wife, Julia (37), and they have two little girls, Olivia (2) and Lyla (1). They are expecting a third girl August 12th. They will have three girls under three. It took Todd a while to marry and once he did, they are just popping those girls out. They live and work right down town Chicago on the 29th floor of a condo and just love it. They can walk to everything. If youÕve ever been to Chicago, you know what I mean. Todd owns his own business. (Todd Smart, Author, Speaker, Publisher - Todd@CredibilityBusiness.com - www.CredibilityBusiness.com- 888.333.Elevate). Julia is a broker for UBS which is a tough business to be in right now.
Our daughter, Toni (40), was married and divorced, no kids. She is dating a guy right now who seems right for her. She lives in Woodinville, WA, a suburb of Seattle. She works for Boeing, has a cat and a dog.
I keep busy growing flowers and vegetables and I love cooking. I like arranging flowers and entering them in our county fair and the 12th District Horticulture Society. I joined the local garden club which keeps me busy helping out around town. I enjoy reading, traveling, feeding and watching the birds, making glass jewelry & stained glass and anything to do with angels. I also am into alternative health and read a lot about that. I use and sell Young Living Essential Oils. I have Celiac Disease and allergic to dairy. That is terrible coming from Wisconsin!
IÕm only putting this in here in case someone has an idea of what to do or how to help. Doug found out in April that he has two rare diseases; only 2 people out of 100,000 get this a year. The first thing is Myelofibrosis (MF). The dr. explained it as the bone marrow is scared. The symptoms are anemia, fatigue, weakness, enlarged liver and spleen. Within this he has a JAK2 Mutation. The second thing is Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). Within that he has a 5q- syndrome (broken chromosome). He has to have a complete blood count test monthly for 6 months to see how his hemoglobin is, if it drops or stays stable. In May it was 10.6, June 10.2, and July 9.8. The only thing the medical society knows what to do is a drug and or transfusions; however they only do those when the hemoglobin has dropped to 8 or below. We donÕt want that to happen. They told him that the scarring is caused from toxic chemicals or radiation sometime in your life. DougÕs symptoms are anemia, falls asleep everywhere, enlarged spleen and dizziness. We donÕt know about his liver. Life span can be 10-12 years; everyone is different. They figure Doug has had it about 3 years or more. Oh, and it can develop into leukemia. My e-mail is glosmart@aol.com if you would like to contact us.

7/15/10 Update - Hello from Arizona!

We had originally scheduled our annual trip so we could be up there for the reunion but changed our trip date when we found out our new grandson would be arriving at the same time. We are on call to take care of little Olivia when the time comes.

So, we will go to my brotherÕs cabin up near Cumberland the week after Labor Day as we do every year to hang out with my siblings and then on to Walker, MN to visit GaryÕs sister.

I keep busy. There is never enough time to do everything. Our area is like a resort with three swimming pools, tennis, pickle ball, four golf courses and a club to fit every activity a person would want to get involved in and if there is not a club, one can be started. About half of the residents only winter here so it is very quiet during the summer months. We have a ton of people from Minnesota and Wisconsin that have homes here in Grand so I get to hear Òthe accentÓ a lot during the winter months. In fact, we have a couple from Eau Claire right down the street.

Sorry that I will not get to see you all. It would be so much fun.
Hopefully, the slide show will be made available to us that cannot attend.

Judy (F) Putman

ÊÊ LetÕs see, fifty years is a lot of years to remember. I went to school in River Falls for one year and then worked at St Paul Fire and Marine. Met husband Gary on a blind date in St. Paul and he has dragged me all over the U.S. and even spent a few years in Mexico City. We just celebrated out 46th wedding anniversary. We have three daughters and three grandchildren. Two daughters live in the Phoenix area and the third lives in San Diego. ÊÊ We have been in the Phoenix area for 26 years, first living in Glendale, then Peoria, and now in Surprise in an area called Sun City Grand. We both play golf about three times a week. I belong to a stitching group which is mainly a gab session, and I have started playing Mah Jongg. I am also gainfully employed (two days a month) at the Stained Glass Shop here in Glendale and have a studio in my home where I dabble with glass projects. ÊÊ We have been truly blessed with a wonderful family and friends. A lot of years to remember but they have gone by so very fast.

Karen Haddow

   Greeting to all my classmates!

I can't believe we'll be celebrating our 50th reunion--those are only for "old farts" and we definitely can't be one of those yet!

You might remember that I always wanted to be a teacher. My first experience lasted 6 years, 4 in River Falls and 2 in New London. Then I became a stay-at-home mom for a few years and had a son and daughter with my first husband.

During those child-rearing years, I obtained my real estate broker's license and managed the office for our own small real estate firm. Then 1980 hit with interest rates at 13% and higher and our little firm couldn't hang on. As it turned out, neither could the marriage. I did some clerical jobs while trying to return to teaching. Finally in 1986 I was hired for fourth grade in Appleton. With that job in hand I could now support myself and the kids, so a divorce commenced.

In my second chance at life I had a short stint at being the "wild" teenager I never had an opportunity to experience the first time around. I met my current husband, Bill (Antigo native), in 1988. He soon taught me to downhill ski and we are avid skiers to this day.

We both retired in 2008 and live mostly in our new home on South Twin Lake in Vilas County between Eagle River and Phelps. We've taken up golf for our warm weather fun together and continue to be intimidated by that little white ball.

My son Tim is head IT man for a firm in Milwaukee. He and his wife Diane have one 12 year old son and live in Grafton. My daughter Michelle (Micki) is a firefighter/driver in Appleton. She and her husband Tim have one 8 year old daughter.

Elaine Miklian

After graduation I moved to St. Paul and got a job.

In 1966 I got married. For the next ten years I had four children and was a stay-at-home mom. In 1972 we moved from the Twin Cities area to Eureka, SD. In 1976 I got a job in Eureka for an insurance company. I retired from there in 2008.

Our four children are Melinda, Morris, Tracy and Tonya.

Melinda and Scottie have three girls: Heather, Meaghan and Breanna. Heather is a doctor. She is taking her residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Meaghan is in college majoring in Nursing. Breanna will be a senior in high school here in Eureka.

Morris and Amy have two girls, Taylor and Abby. Taylor will be in fourth grade and Abby will be in first grade. They live in Maple Grove, MN.

Tracy is divorced. She lives in Atlanta, GA.

Tonya and Dan live in Ft. Collins. CO.

Mert used to be a long-haul trucker. Once a year I would go with him. The most interesting trip we made was to Alaska.

Since retirement we now go on bus tours. We have been to Canada and many U. S. states.

A newspaper article about our granddaughter Heather:

Judy Zimmer

The week after graduation, Kathy Madson introduced me to Ron Aebly at the Gray Goose Pavilion in Hersey. He had just graduated from Glenwood City H.S. In the fall, I went off to St. Mary's School of Nursing in Minneapolis, and he went off to St. John's University near St Cloud, MN. We dated for four years, and got married in August of 1964.
After fulfilling his military obligation, we moved to the Twin Cities where he worked for Control Data.
In 1971, Ron became an F.B.I. agent. The Bureau moved us to Arkansas, Kentucky, New Jersey, and in 1985 to the Milwaukee office. We bought a home in Brookfield, a Milwaukee suburb, and I still live there.
Over the course of those years, we had six children. Our oldest will be 45 in July, and Megan, our "surprise" turned 24 in March. She graduated with her master's degree from Marquette University in May of this year. Our 10th grandchild was born this June.
I worked as an R.N. over those many years, and retired last September when the hospital's nurse call center I was working for closed due to the economy. I had hoped to work longer, but am enjoying retirement.
Sadly, Ron died after a very brief illness in 2001. It has helped me so much to have all of my wonderful children in the Milwaukee and Chicago areas. They have been great! Three of my sisters live in the Milwaukee area as well which is wonderful.
I love reading, walking, being "Grandma Judy", and taking trips with my four sisters.
I am looking forward to the reunion!

Jean McClellen (Rosalind Jean Alice McClellen) - the following was submitted by her granddaughter:

- married Charles Christenson on November 18, 1961

- adopted two children, Kurt (1969) and Heidi (1972)

- worked at the Baldwin Care Center as a caretaker for 20 years

- lived on a farm outside Baldwin raising steer, chicken, geese, cats, etc., since late 70's

- vacationed in the Dakota's in the 80's, saw the Mount Rushmore

My grandma, Rosalind Jean Alice Christenson, is one of the greatest and most inspiring people I know. She is kind-hearted, loveable, funny, free-spirited, and hard-working. My grandma loves animals and gardening, is an amazing seamstress, can brighten up a room with her amazing smile, and is always there to lend a helping hand. She has always been there for me, and I hope her sunny personality one day rubs off on me. - Alexandra Dumond

Myron Lockrem

A recent note from Myron - August 3, 2010: Dear Bill and Classmates:
Thanks to all of you that worked on the 50th reunion. IÕm sorry I canÕt be there. I had my first operation for colon cancer recently, but now I am getting chemo. Later I will get a hip replacement. So you can see that my Òplate is fullÓ for this year. I hope I can Òweather the stormÓ. Best wishes to the class of Ò60Ó. I may call and find out how it all turned out.
A friend always Ð Myron.

I have two daughters, Chris and Sherry. Their mother passed away in 1999. I have four grandchildren and one great granddaughter, age two. I have been in Las Vegas since 1981.

I retired after 30 years hauling milk in the large, over the road 18 wheeler tanker trucks. Fifteen years was spent driving trucks out of the creamer in Baldwin, Wisconsin and another fifteen years driving out of Las Vegas. I picked up and delivered in Utah, Nevada, Arizona and California Ð all over the Los Angeles area. After five company mergers and I still managed to stay with the same company for thirty years.

Alice (Kay) Wilsey and I have been together since 1985 and she is my soul mate. A big HI to all my 1960 classmates.

Bonnie Koehler

For several years after graduation, I lived in St. Paul, Minnesota, doing office work. At first I worked at St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Co. I began in the steno pool and then I was chosen to run an automated typewriter called a Freiden Flex-o-writer. Later I worked at Fairbanks, Morse & Co. where I was the secretary to the credit manager. I was also trained to run their very old fashioned switchboard when the operator was on her coffee breaks and noon hour. That was fun to do!

After marriage, Roger and I settled in River Falls and I began working at the River Falls newspaper. There I ran a machine called a Freiden Adjust-o-writer. I typed on regular-sized paper at one machine (adding "codes" as indicated); a companion machine typed the material out in long columns, ready for the newspaper.

After our children, Tim and Teresa, were born, I became a stay-at-home mom, doing in-home child care for extra money. When our children were in school full time, I stopped doing child care. In this next phase of my life I did volunteer work at church and school; but I mostly transported children (ours and often their friends) to and from the many church, school, athletic and social activities children this age attend. I also began to research both Roger's and my family histories. (No Internet then, instead it took visits to our oldest relatives, courthouses, archives and cemeteries!) Other present (and former) hobbies: reading, cake decorating, crocheting, flower gardening.

When our children became teenagers, I began working in the office at Melgard Monument Co. near River Falls. After leaving my job in 1994, I spent more time with my mom and an aunt who was alone. I also began to organize our family histories to duplicate for our children and our siblings. (I haven't yet gotten them done, maybe soon??)

Roger retired in 2001. After two years he was bored and went back to work part-time. He continues this job.

Our children are married and we have six grandchildren (ages 4 to 22). We love spending time with them all. They are awesome!

Bill Klanderman

Putting fifty years into a few brief paragraphs Ð best I diminish the past and focus on the present. After four and a half great years in Madison, I finally got a degree and ventured into my first and only professional job with Minnesota Mutual Ð now known as Securian Ð in St Paul, MN. The next thirty eight years were spent in a variety of District, Regional and National Sales Management positions first in the Philadelphia, Pa area (thirty one years) and later in St Paul, MN (seven years).

I retired in 2002, and shortly after, Jill and I sold our Woodbury home and moved to our lake home. After a couple years we decided that living on a Lake was not all itÕs cracked up to be, and so purchased some property near Spring Valley and built a home on Norwegian Ridge about half way between Spring Valley and Elmwood. We had to prove our Norwegian heritage in order to purchase the property. We spend our time reading, playing bridge, contributing time to local government and church, golf, mowing grass and Òjust sittingÓ. The just sitting canÕt be beat.

Our three boys and their families in birth order are: Greg (Barb) has a girl and boy (3 and 1 years old). They live about an hour away from Eric (Andrea) who has one boy (2 years old) with a girl due in June. They all live and work in the Boston area. Josh (Amanda) lives and works in Minneapolis and has not yet started a family.

Visit us if you are in the area Ð our phone number and address is in the Spring Valley phone book.
