Sadie Hawkins Day |
||
Friday, November 9, was Sadies Hawkins Day. The F.H.A. Club selected Senior Ruthie Thompson as Daisy Mae and Ruthie chose Bill Pence to play the role of Lil' Abner. During the day the girls had to dress in patched shirts and jeans. They had to open the doors for boys, let the boys leave rooms first, go first in the cafeteria line and give the boys the right of way. That evening, the girls had to ask the boys to dance and pay for their tickets and refreshments. The people dressed as Dog Patch characters for the dance. Verne Eakins orchestsra supplied the music and the F.H.A. girls served delicious cake and cocoa in the dining room. |
